How it works / Your pace

A conversation.
Then a thread to return to.

You do not need a polished goal or a completed assessment. Bring something from the life you are actually living.

To begin

Try one conversation.

Talk about a decision, a change, someone you care about, or something you keep returning to. Wayfinder starts with your words, asks questions, and begins learning what matters to you.

  1. Choose the one-time conversation and complete payment through Stripe.
  2. Check payment on the confirmation page, then sign in with the phone number associated with checkout. Confirm your minutes and access before using the account’s call or scheduling controls.
  3. Bring what is on your mind. You can decide afterward whether you want an ongoing rhythm.

If you want to continue

Make a little room
in your week.

With an ongoing membership, choose a recurring call time in Scheduled Calls. Calls use your plan’s minutes. Between calls, coaching texts can help you return to something that matters.

You choose the pace. Adjust your schedule and text preferences in settings; text LESS for weekly check-ins, PAUSE for a break, or STOP to stop texts. Stopping texts does not cancel a paid membership.

There is no required achievement for week one. Start a conversation, decide what you want help with, and correct anything that does not sound like you.

Your Instantaneous Being

The actor can change.
The story carries forward.

IB means Instantaneous Being: a body of algorithmic thinking dedicated to you, brought together in the moment. Wayfinder is a software-based coach, not a person.

The actor
The language model performing the conversation.
The role
The written hero’s journey coaching approach, with its guidance and tools.
Your history
Your conversation records and evolving understanding of your goals, people, challenges and changes.

The role and personal history are stored separately from the model. That lets them carry forward as we adopt newer models, with relevant context brought into each exchange.

A record is not the same as an interpretation. Tell Wayfinder when a name, goal or assumption is wrong. The aim is a clearer working understanding—not a permanent label, perfect recall, or a guarantee that every response is right.

The model has a role to play. You do not have a script to follow.

The ideas underneath

A pattern to explore.
Not a life to prescribe.

The hero’s journey names a pattern recognized in human stories long before Wayfinder. Seven elements help organize reflection: Protagonist, Shift, Quest, Allies, Challenge, Transformation and Legacy.

Rogers and colleagues studied hero’s-journey framing and meaning in life in eight studies published in 2023. That research informs the approach; it did not test this app or establish guaranteed outcomes for its users.

Before sharing

Ask what you need to know.

Long-term coaching uses conversation records and personal context. Share only what you are comfortable sharing. If you need details about retention, deletion, export or who processes a conversation, ask us before you begin; we do not promise controls here that have not been verified.

Wayfinder is coaching, not therapy or emergency support. Receiving help, resting and setting a boundary can be a useful next step, too.
